- Approved a site plan for a city-owned biochar facility at 670 25th Ave. SE in Prospect Park. This facility would convert tree waste into biochar, which is used to improve soil quality and pull carbon from the air, preventing atmospheric carbon emissions.
- Postponed a decision on a few variance requests and a site plan for a two-story addition to Re’ese Adbarat Tserha Aryam Kidist Selassie (RATAKS) Ethiopian Orthodox Cathedral in Seward. During the public hearing, the applicants said they were concerned about construction spreading the arsenic in the soil into the air. Commissioners said they were not previously aware of this concern.
- Approved a variance request for Minnehaha Academy’s parking lot project with a modification – the commissioners wanted the landscape yard between the parking and loading area and property line along East 42nd Street to be nine feet, not seven feet.
- Commissioners denied a separate variance request asking for 132 parking spaces, rather than the maximum of 107.
