Special Assignment: Indy Documenters at the Polls
Your Chosen Polling Location
On election day, Documenters will interview neighbors at the polling location of their choice as a part of Mirror Indy’s live election coverage.
Your assignment will last two hours and be due an hour after you leave the polling location. Assignments will not be accepted after 7 p.m. Submissions are accepted via the assignment page at Documenters.org, email, or text. This is a quick turnaround, and we appreciate your willingness to report on election day. Live-tweeting roles have the same requirements.
The assignment must include
- Start and end time
- Polling Location address
- Interviews from at least three voters including:
- First and last name
- Why did you come to vote?
- Which ballot are you voting on? Or What is your party affiliation?
- Which neighborhood are you from?
Please include:
- Pictures of the voters with their first and last names
- Interview audio
- One to two pages of single-spaced timestamps for notes roles
- Follow-up questions and observations
Documenters may also include:
- Photos of the polling location’s exterior
- Video
- Personal social media content
